So what happens in an arc flash?

When a high-voltage gap exists and there is a breakdown between conductors, there is a sudden release of electrical energy through the air. This can give off heat and light reaching temperatures up to 35,000 F. This can cause intense burns, injury and even death.

Every day, there are up to 10 arc flash incidents in the United States.
