Serve Academy Adminstrative Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide essential support to our education department. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to promoting educational excellence. As an Education Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of educational programs and administrative functions within our institution.

Areas of Ownership:

  • Serve Academy Class Host. This role on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays includes setting up the space, prepping the students for the day, helping with ad-hoc projects throughout the day and making sure the teachers are prepped for a smooth day.
  • Administrative Assistant. This part of the role is data entry, student homework and attendance, safety certifications, scheduling, and communication.
  • Part of the Administrative Team. We have a rotation of receptionists this person would be a part of as well as helping with revolving office tasks and hospitality.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative support to the education department, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
  2. Assist in the coordination and organization of educational events, workshops, and training sessions.
  3. Maintain accurate records and databases related to student enrollment, attendance, and academic performance.
  4. Assist with the preparation and distribution of educational materials, such as lesson plans, syllabi, and instructional resources.
  5. Coordinate communication between faculty, staff, and students.
  6. Assist with the procurement and inventory management of educational supplies and equipment.
  7. Support the recruitment and onboarding process for teaching staff and educational support personnel.
  8. Assist with the development and maintenance of educational policies, procedures, and documentation.
  9. Provide logistical support for student activities and other educational initiatives.
  10. Collaborate with other administrative staff to ensure the efficient operation of the education department.
  11. Perform general office duties, such as filing, copying, and maintaining office supplies.
  12. Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information and interactions.

 

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Proven experience in an administrative support role, preferably in an educational setting.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
  4. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  8. Knowledge of educational terminology, processes, and procedures is a plus.
  9. Experience with student information systems (SIS) or learning management systems (LMS) is desirable.
  10. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in education administration.

PLC Programmer

Serve Electric is looking for a driven and detail-oriented PLC Programmer to join our team. The PLC Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining programmable logic controller systems for various industrial automation and control applications. The PLC Programmer is required to travel to different project locations throughout the US to implement and support PLC systems. This position can expect to be 50% travel to 50% time in our local office. 

 

Job Description: 

 

  • PLC Programming: Develop and write PLC programs, ladder logic, function block diagrams, and other programming languages to control industrial machinery and processes. Ensure that the programs are efficient, reliable, and meet the specific requirements of each client or project.
  • System Integration: Integrate PLC systems with other industrial automation components such as Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and various sensors.
  • Commissioning: Travel to client sites and conduct on-site commissioning of PLC systems. This involves setting up the equipment, configuring the software, testing the system, and ensuring proper functionality.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLC systems during commissioning, operation, or maintenance. Troubleshoot problems in electrical circuits, communication networks, and PLC hardware/software.
  • Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including system design specifications, programming manuals, and user guides for the clients and other team members.
  • Client Support: Provide technical support to clients and end-users to resolve PLC-related issues, answer questions, and assist with system maintenance.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct tests to validate PLC programs and ensure that they meet safety and quality standards. Perform simulations to verify the logic and functionality of the control systems.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in PLC technology, automation, and industrial control systems to enhance skills and knowledge. 

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred but not required. Relevant certifications in PLC programming may also be beneficial. 
  • PLC Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming various PLC brands and platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, etc.) is essential. 
  • Industrial Automation Knowledge: Familiarity with industrial automation concepts, control systems, and instrumentation is necessary. 
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial as the role involves interacting with clients and team members from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions for PLC programming challenges. 
  • Adaptability: Willingness to travel frequently and work on-site at different locations is a key requirement for this role. 
  • Safety Awareness: Understanding of industrial safety standards and best practices to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. 
  • Team Player: Collaborative attitude to work effectively with other team members and clients to achieve project objectives.

Jr. PLC Programmer

Serve Electric is looking for driven and detail-oriented JR PLC Programmers to join our Service and Controls team. The Jr PLC Programmer will apply electrical/pneumatic theory, and related knowledge to design industrial controls systems and assembly tools. The Jr PLC Programmer will be responsible for troubleshooting PLC, robotics, and various automation issues, along with programming new installations of tooling and conveyor systems and troubleshoot existing installations. The Jr PLC Programmer will have the ability to design and incorporate various controls components, while reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum Associates Degree in Engineering, PLC Programming or Mechatronics preferred. 
  • 2+ years of Manufacturing with PLC Software experience desired. 
  • Knowledge of aspects of software design and coding. 
  • Knowledge of ladder, logic, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuitry and understanding of mechanical sequencing of machinery. 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
